Liver Cancer
Liver cancer is an abnormal growth of cells in the liver. Often the abnormal growth is called a tumor.
Liver cancer is often caused by the spread of cancer from another part of the body. The exact cause of cancer that starts in the liver is not known. Some things that seem to increase the risk of liver cancer are:
heavy alcohol drinking
hepatitis B and C infections,
scarring of the liver (cirrhosis), and
other chronic liver diseases.
