Side Effects of Bicalutamide(Casodex®)
The possible side effects include:
Depression
Impotence
Weight gain
Abnormal enlargement of breasts in men (gynaecomastia)
Dry skin
Hot flushes
Nausea or vomiting
Chest pain (angina)
Hair loss (alopecia)
Headache
Itching (pruritis)
Weakness or loss of strength (asthenia)
Decrease in the number of platelets in the blood (thrombocytopenia)
Decreased sex drive
Breast tenderness
Liver disorders
Disturbances of the gut such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea or abdominal
pain
Abnormal heart beats (arrhythmias)
Each person’s reaction to any medication is unique.
Many people have very few side effects with bicalutamide, while others may experience more.
The side effects described in this factsheet will not affect everyone and may be different if you are having more than one drug. We have outlined the most common side-effects.
